Kentuckiana Motorsports Presented by Lucas Oil

Dover, Kansas, and Darlington are next! Should be an interesting few weeks in the NASCAR Cup Series, as well as Xfinity and Trucks. Kyle Busch backed his way into the Talladega win after a last lap mega wreck. He was at the right place and at the right time. But it should be brought out, with about 25-35 laps to go, Busch was no where to be found. He's now a steady veteran (Most of the time). His Richard Childress owned car is powered by Lucas Oil products! Of course, the driver of the #8 probably wishes the victory happened in Daytona, an event that has eluded him. Talladega hasn't been a favorite. Busch hasn't been to Victory Lane at Talladega in more than a decade. It is his 2nd win of the 2023 Cup racing season. Speaking of Talladega, a shout out to Kimmel Racing based in Clarksville, Indiana. Scott Melton finished 8th in the ARCA race there. This after a incident early on. Kansas is up next for ARCA on My 6th.

Speaking of dates, remember May 19-21 on your calendar. It is Must See TV. It will be History! The stars of the NASCAR Cup Series return to the short track in North Wilkesboro, NC for the NASCAR All-Star Race. There has not been a Cup Race there since 1996. That's when Jeff Gordan took the checkered flag. The track has had a few events since. For the most part, it sat empty for years. Weeds everywhere. But thanks to the local community and racing stars like Dale Earnhardt Jr., North Wilkesboro will come alive again. It is a track rich in NASCAR history dating back to the roots of stock car racing!

It is going to be a GIANT Saturday at the Sportsdrome Speedway. It is the Second Annual Figure 8 Xtravagansa! Fans will see a 75-Lap World Figure 8 Outlaw Showdown, a 50-lap Modified Figure and a 50 lap Ford Figure 8 race. And there's even more packed into the night of racing! Check out the Sportsdrome Speedway website, and social media for late news and changes. Other area tracks bring excitement too! The Salem Speedway, about an hour outside of Louisville, delivers high-banked and short track action. The Ohio Valley Dragway is a 1/8th mile track about 25 minutes from Louisville along Dixie Highway in West Point, Kentucky. There is the bullring at the Ponderosa Speedway in central Kentucky at Junction City near Danville (About an hour and fifteen minutes southeast of Louisville). Drive south to Bowling Green (KY) and you'll enjoy Beech Bend. There is an amusement park, camping, and racing. The Beech Bend dragstrip brings in the fans and has a wide range of vents. We always encourage you to check out track websites or social media for last minutes weather changes and ticket discounts or specials!

We've told you Lucas Oil has been a longtime sponsor of Kentuckiana Motorsports, and we're thankful. Spring is here and soon the heat of the summer will be upon us! Be sure when taking spring and summer trips to put some Lucas Oil in your car! It Works! Our other sponsors include PNC Bank (Sponsor of Scott Dixon's Indy Car Series Car), Sportsdrome Speedway (Celebrating more than 77 years of Racing!), locally owned Bright Pest Control and Bright Retail in Louisville, (Offering Do-It-Yourself Professional Pest Products with a retail store), and Knox Ford in Radcliff, Kentucky) (It also has a sister dealership, Tri-County Ford in Oldham County, KY). KMS friends also include: VoiceTel Kentucky (Offering telephone service for $25.00 a line, and that includes all taxes and fees), Temco Roofing, Jim Ellis/Attorney At Law, ICA Dumpsters, Kentucky Raceway Ministries, Nimlok Kentucky, Dynamic Healthcare, Lyndon Mower Repair, and Kentucky Medicare Plans (Serving Kentucky and Southern Indiana with Health and Medicare plans). We also thank our media connections in all series, NASCAR and with NASCAR Media, Indy Car, Monster Jam, ARCA, and NHRA for helping us bring the sport to the fans!

With so much going on in the world these days we encourage you to think about the outdoors. And that includes the safety of animals, ranchers, and farmers. Years ago, Lucas Oil stepped into the forefront to do just that. Find out more and what you can do at: www.protecttheharvest.com
