KENTUCKIANA MOTORSPORTS PRESENTED BY LUCAS OIL

One word says it all: Talladega! It is time for the spring race at the Alabama superspeedway. Kyle Busch is the defending spring race winner.  It is just one of those events any sports fan must watch whether you like NASCAR or not, especially the last 25 or 30 laps. The ARCA Series is also competing at Talladega, see more below.

At Texas this past weekend Chase Elliott got his first win of the season, in overtime. Look at the impressive names who finished right behind the #9. Keselowski, Byron (Has two wins already this season), Reddick Suarez, Briscoe, Wallace, and Dillion. Outside of Byron, the others had much needed Top 10 finishes.  Brad Keselowski is overdue to take the checkered flag. He likes Talladega. Should be interesting. We should note, Ross Chastain would likely have had a top five finish, but got turned around by William Byron during a green-white-checkered finish. Will Chastain return the favor?  Chastain has raced hard this year. Won't happen at Talladega. But if he's going for a win at a smaller track, and Byron is in his way, Chastain won't forget.

At Texas, Kyle Busch entered the Craftsman Truck Series event and dominated it, leading more than 100 laps. He took the checkered flag to add to his record of having the most all-time wins in NASCAR history.  In the Xfinity Series, Sam Mayer edges Ryan Sieg to earn the win.

The Indy Car Series is back in action this weekend at Long Beach. In the last race, Alex Palou got the last win in Southern California near Palm Springs. Not too far in the distant future the excitement leading up to the Indianapolis 500.

In the NHRA, there was plenty to see at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  In Top Fuel, Doug Kalitta enjoyed the top spot on the podium. Jeg Coughlin Jr. claimed Pro Stock, and Bob Tasca III  got just the third triple holeshot win in NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series history claiming his first career four-wide victory. Up next Charlotte August 26-28 in the Lucas Oil backed racing series.

In 2024, Kentuckiana Motorsports will continue to have fun and provide information on all levels of racing.  Lucas Oil has been and continues to be a major sponsor of what we do. coverage for more than two decades.  Kentuckiana Motorsports started with a half hour program and specials on cable, then a major television channel, and as media has transformed, online and social media. Lucas Oil  loves racing too! They support local and grass roots. Always have. We remind you to make sure your car, truck, motorcycle, boat, other vehicles, and lawn equipment are all running efficiently.  Think Lucas Oil Products this winter! We also thank our media connections in all series, NASCAR and with NASCAR Media, Indy Car, Monster Jam, ARCA, and NHRA for helping us bring the sport to the fans!

At the local tracks, there is plenty going on. We encourage you to support local racing, local drivers, and local race teams.  And don't forget the sponsors lending a helping hand. It is great family fun. The Sportsdrome Speedway in Jeffersonville is celebrating 78 years of excitement, the Salem Speedway has a strong history too. Other area tracks are the Ponderosa Speedway in central Kentucky at Junction City near Danville, Beech Bend in Bowling Green (KY), and just outside of Louisville in West Point Kentucky is the Ohio Valley Dragway. Do check social media pages weekly for last minute updates and ticket specials. Already this year, Mother Nature has forced some changes to take place.

 Kimmel Racing-Clarksville, Indiana

Kimmel Racing is busy getting ready for its next ARCA race. It is set this Saturday at Talladega. We  dropped by the Clarksville, Indiana race shop and the team was getting the car to be driven by ARCA ARCA veteran Scott Melton ready. " We had a good trip to Daytona in our last race. One of our two drivers had a top 10. We believe Scott will be right up there in the closing laps at Talladega" said Will Kimmel, co-owner and  part-time racer with Kimmel Racing.  Championship winning crew chief Bill Kimmel has a long history of getting his team's cars to the front at Talladega.  He loves talking Talladega!  Serving Kentucky and Southern Indiana

Race teams know you have to be in strong mental, emotional, and physical shape to wheel a competitive car or truck around the track.  Running 100 short track  or 500 big laps can be challenging for a driver. Seconds count when hitting the pits for service.  A crew must be fast and make no mistakes.  And all must be physically ready.  Then there are wrecks!  A car slams into a wall or a racer is caught up in a multiple car mishap.  Safety equipment has improved greatly over the years. Still, drivers and crew members get medical help for aches and pains. And that includes back and spinal care.

Locally, Dr. Paul Constante with Dynamic Chiropractic has helped treat college, pro, high school, and other athletes for years. The list of Louisville area patients includes racers.  Professionals and every day people also turn to Dr. Constante and his team for chiropractic care and treatment. He serves patients from Kentucky and Southern Indiana.  Learn more at: www.louisvillespineandinjury.com

Click on the short videos below as Dr. Paul Constante talks about different injuries, treatments, and precautions with your back, spine, and body.
